Hey there ladies,
In the Uk, where I am based, it is a Bank Holiday, being Easter Monday and you can feel in the air, the sense of many, many people feeling a little ‘uurgh,’ after consuming rather a lot of chocolate! It’s what normally happens at this time of year, it’s almost inevitable.
Today, therefore, I have decide to give you an insight into one of the best strategies that I took to overcoming chocolate addiction, that takes a little time but it is worth it, as, as with anything you want to change it is initially important to observe what is going on, so as to be able to hone in on what exactly needs improvement, as some wise person once said:
” Awareness is half the battle.” Very true. Once you have awareness, they you have a clear starting point from which to move forward, as with that perspective you can look at where you want to go.
I call this the ‘chocolator,’ it is a way of measuring when you eat chocolate, and how you feel when you eat it before, during and after. This tracking of your chocolate habits serves to help you see your emotional, thought and behaviourial patterns around chocolate and really, really helped me to see which areas I really need to work on. For example: I discovered that when I ate a LOT of chocolate, was when I was feeling low about myself and where my life was at, so eating chocolate gave me a short-term buzz and a kind of emotional numbness they allowed me to ‘breathe’ a little. Of course this was followed by me feeling even worse, and worrying about not fitting into my clothes and just feeling awfully sick. Familiar?
So, just by taking a sheet of paper, or writing in your diary the times and amounts of chocolate that you eat, and then next to these dates, write your feelings before, during and after, and let me know how you get on.
I look forward to hearing how you get on:) I know this step really starting me on my journey to truly taking my chocolate addiction seriously and heightened my determination in overcoming it! I really hopes that this helps you too!
Hugs, Light & Love,
